From one agent to a team
When an agent’s queue fills with different kinds of work, split it into roles and add a supervisor.
The sign
An agent that researches accounts starts being asked to draft the message too, then to update the pipeline. Its steps get longer and its mistakes get harder to find. That is the sign: the job has become three jobs.
The split
Give each kind of work its own agent with a job title: Account Strategist, Outreach Writer, Revenue Manager. Each one keeps one tool and one approval, the same way the first agent did. Name them by what they do, because your team will talk to them by name.
The supervisor
Add one agent whose job is the team: it assigns the work, checks each piece against the goal and decides what needs a person. It does not do the specialists’ jobs. On the org chart it sits above them, under the person who owns the number.
The hand-offs
Write down what passes between agents: the Strategist hands a brief to the Writer, the Writer hands a draft to a person, the person’s approval hands the send to the Revenue Manager. Each hand-off shows up as a step, so anyone can follow a piece of work across the team.
